Tennis is a game centered on movement and time management. The more balanced you are during the follow-through, the better you will be at resisting the forces of momentum created by moving to the ball and swinging your racquet. This allows you to change direction and recover more quickly for the next shot.
That said, get ready to work out with instructor Alexis Turner, who will lead this 30-minute bodyweight barre workout for balance. Leilani Terris and Siena Lyn are fab fitness coaches who joined Alexis for modified versions of this sweat sesh. Leilani will perform at a medium level, while Siena will perform at a beginner level.
You’ll start with a quick warmup and then work through some of your favorite ballet basics, like second position pliés and relevés with added pulses for an additional challenge. This one is all about balance — but don’t worry if you fall out of the positions here and there. Just try again, and don’t give up!
