Family has always been a priority for tennis star Venus Williams, so it’s no surprise that the Grand Slam champion and entrepreneur chose to honor her father in her newest King Richard Collection which dropped today. Venus took the memorable vintage styles she and her dad/coach, Richard Williams wore in the 80’s, and gave them a modern, yet nostalgic edge.
It’s a representation of my dad. The nostalgia of that ‘80s and ‘90s period, we’re recreating that. Since we’re a women’s collection, I wanted to capture the strength of a father and the role that he plays in his daughters’ lives. I’m excited about it coming out.
Hard work and perseverance was (and still is!) a must in this family, and the King Richard Collection shows just that.
