FILA has tapped Brandon Maxwell, Creative Director of Brandon Maxwell, as the guest designer for its new women’s tennis collection.
This is Maxwell’s first foray into tennis apparel. FILA by Brandon Maxwell draws on FILA’s rich Italian heritage and Brandon’s classic American aesthetic. For the season’s final grand slam, FILA-sponsored athletes such as Karolina Pliskova and Shelby Rogers make their fashion debuts on the courts of New York City.
FILA by Brandon Maxwell is a collection that combines the classic FILA tennis silhouette with core components of Maxwell’s aesthetic. Fila’s signature color combination of pink and red is complemented by FILA’s signature navy and green colors. The collection features artistic and attention-grabbing details, perfectly placed pleats unexpected renditions such as classic polo shirts with a twist.
The 21-piece collection features artful and attention-grabbing details, staple styles, and versatile options that can easily transition off the court.
The FILA by Brandon Maxwell Collection
Fila by Brandon Maxwell offers a cutout cami style in pink/navy and a pleated racerback dress in black, as well as an asymmetrical dress in both navy/green and white, with a sheer mesh midriff cutout and a removable spaghetti strap for a one-shoulder option. A chic tracksuit with contrast color tipping is also available in both navy and white colorways.
The collection’s three skort styles focus on Maxwell’s brand’s key element: pleats. The skorts include sheer pleated mesh, asymmetric pleats, and box pleats, each with variations in the collection’s color palette. Tie two racerback keyhole tank tops and two sports bras to your skort.
Among the styles that stand out in the collection is a pink organza coat with a detachable skirt. This lightweight design has a 2-way split zipper at the waist and a removable zipped bottom that allows for both cropped and long options. Other essential items include a polo and tank set which he created as two separate pieces, allowing the wearer to easily transition from tennis to off-court activities.

Creating this collection allowed me to imbue a classic silhouette with a fashion perspective, and I am thrilled with the results!

The FILA by Brandon Maxwell collection will be available on August 29th at FILA.com, BrandonMaxwellOnline.com, and BANDIER.com and select BANDIER stores.
