Hack Your Diet With These Delicious Ready to Drink Smoothies by NOKA

If you have a hard time finding healthy substitutions for snacks or breakfasts (or you simply don’t have the time to make them yourself) you need to try these uber healthy, on-the-go fruit smoothies. While browsing the aisles at my local HEB last week, a product caught my eye – NOKA Superfood Smoothies.

I’ve been a real slacker lately, as COVID has upended my usual diet. Often, it’s tough finding good produce because most of us are stocking up in order to cut down on grocery store trips. Well, after reading the ingredients and certification on the NOKA label, I was like, “It’s healthy and easy…perfect!”

Like a lot of people, I’m a skeptic when it comes to trying new things. In case a particular flavor wasn’t a favorite, I decided to purchase them all, but I didn’t want to pay full retail at the grocery store. Thankfully, they have multi-packs on Amazon, so I ordered 6-pack which was actually less than buying 6 individual smoothies!

Bulk ordering turned out to be the best idea ever, and not because any were not to my liking…they are ALL delicious! And I can honestly say that, hands down, my absolute favorite is the Mango/Coconut, which tastes kind of like a pina colada – yummmmm!

So, why all the fuss about “superfoods”?

Our bodies are designed to absorb nutrients from real foods better than vitamin supplements or synthetic substitutes. Superfoods have incredibly high nutritional profiles and are backed by extensive supporting research, not to mention, they are delicious! Here are just some of the awesome ingredients that help protect your bod and keep you healthy so you can play more tennis!

Camu Camu has 60 times the Vitamin C of an orange.  This superfood also contains: Valine (nervous system & cognitive function), Leucine (muscle & bone tissue growth), Potassium (heart & kidneys), Serine (digestion), Flavonoids (prevent cell damage), and compounds that have anti-viral properties and give you a boost of natural energy.

Maqui Berry is loaded with antioxidants that fight free radicals and promote glowing skin. Preliminary research indicates that maqui berry may have anticancer and anti-aging effects. It may also help alleviate symptoms of dry eye.

Cherries contain anti-inflammatory properties that help reduce muscle pain and soreness.

Flax Seeds are packed with Omega-3s for a happy, healthy heart and brain.

Mangos contain mangiferin, a superpowered antioxidant that protects your cells.

Beets literally help beat stress. They also contain compound nutrients to balance your blood pressure (and your mood). And most importantly, you CANNOT taste them in the smoothie!

The Pros and Cons

The pros to purchasing a ready to drink smoothie far outweigh the cons – because there are no cons!

  1. Money saver: you’d spend a small fortune on the ingredients alone to make them yourself
  2. All organic ingredients: fruits, veggies, 5g of plant protein, flax seed, healthy fats and antioxidant-rich superfoods for balanced nutrition
  3. There are six mouthwatering flavors so your mouth won’t get bored: Strawberry/Pineapple; Blueberry/Beet (again, you CANNOT taste the beets!); Mango/Coconut; Blackberry/Vanilla; Sweet Potato/Gogi; and Cherry/Acai
  4. And there’s no mess to clean up afterward!
