“Hate to Destroy the Narrative”- Roger Federer’s Biographer Dismisses Mirka’s Influence on 2021 Australian Open Withdrawal

If there was one reason why fans were so excited about the 2021 Australian Open, that was because of the return of Roger Federer. However, it was a heartbreaking moment for them when Federer recently withdrew from the Grand Slam in Melbourne. To add to this, there has been some recent controversy on the issue.

According to an Australian Open official, Federer withdrew from the tournament not because of his injury, but due to his family’s worries and quarantine problems. The official also said that it was not Federer’s but his wife Mirka’s decision.

However, Simon Graf, the biographer of the Swiss Maestro, didn’t agree with this. He believed that Federer would have definitely played if he was completely fit for the tournament.

Graf was quite sure that it was the knee injury that didn’t allow Federer to return to tennis on time and not any other issues. He clearly falsified all the claims made by the official about Federer and Mirka.

Graf also updated the fans about some really good and positive news. He revealed that Federer would definitely play at the Dubai Tennis Championships 2021.

Federer has not played a professional tennis match for one year now. He looked certain to make a comeback at the Australian Open 2021, but it could not happen due to some reasons. However, as pointed out, fans will get to watch him play in Dubai in March.

With Federer not playing in Melbourne, he now has only three Grand Slams in the year. As he doesn’t have a great record at the US Open and French Open in the last decade, he will surely target the Wimbledon Championships 2021. Will Federer win his 21st Grand Slam title in 2021?
