WATCH: A Quick Tip To Help You Hold Serve In Tennis

In recreational tennis, players tend to have trouble when it comes to holding their serve. Even those with strong serves find themselves scratching their heads, wondering what happened.

The problem is that most players don’t practice their serve, and if they do, they don’t practice what to do right after hitting the serve… and that’s where the trouble starts.

Immediately after hitting the serve, players tend to follow their serve in to no-man’s land, or what I sometimes call “the black hole” and then stay there, waiting for the return. Most don’t mean to do it, it’s just the natural forward momentum from the serve that pulls them in, and out of position. And, oftentimes, what happens next is that the returns land at their feet, causing them to either hit an error or an awkward return that can be put away by the opponent, which leads to a loss of serve.

By the way… the video shows the same server, before and after (just one day later!) implementing this tip!
