Keep The Edge On Your Opponents During A Super Tiebreaker

In recent years, the USTA and other tennis organizations eliminated the third set. Instead, they opted for the super tiebreaker (the first to 10 points by 2). This means that players will have less time and fewer opportunities to fight for the match, creating a quick set of pressure-filled points. Skills aside, if you aren’t mentally prepared for the challenge, you can still lose the match.

Watch my video, and use these tips to help keep an edge on your opponents in a super tiebreaker situation:

Balance your risk and reward shots. Keep a smart shot selection while keeping your aggressive shots.
Keep your routine. This helps you stay in your comfort zone under pressure.
Don’t go for big serves. Low-percentage serves add pressure to a 2nd serve. Double faults are a tiebreak killer!
Practice the super tiebreaker. The more you practice the super tiebreaker, the more comfortable you will be under the pressure.
