What happens when the peeps at SportsEdTV and my friend and former WTA pro, Jane Forman get together for an instructional video shoot that’s just for us recreational tennis players? Tennis awesomeness, of course!
If you don’t know about SportsEdTV, it is pretty much as it sounds – an educational website featuring video instruction by top professionals in their sport. Though it is relatively new to the internet, the SportsEdTV creators have been working hard behind the scenes for many years, planning and coordinating, and filming and editing hundreds of hours of footage to bring us free world-class online video instruction in over thirty sports! There is something for everyone, all on one site — you won’t find anything like it, anywhere…I dare you to look! And did I mention that it’s FREE?
Along with other sports professionals, SportsEdTV has enlisted former WTA Top-50 professional Jane Forman to teach tennis viewers of all levels how to play better doubles. Jane was a four-time, All-American at Clemson University and ranked among the top 50 in the world during her ten-year playing career on the WTA tour. While on tour, she competed against legends Tracy Austin, Gigi Fernandez, Pam Shriver, and Andrea Jaeger (now an Advisory Board member of SportsEdTV), but her most memorable match was against Martina Navratilova, who she played at Wimbledon.
When she retired from the pro circuit, she began coaching tennis, and in 2002, she created Jane Forman Sports, a management company with the mission of teaching recreational athletes of all ages, gender, income level or ability.
“Jane is a world-class tennis coach who is committed to helping recreational players, especially women, learn how to play better doubles…no matter what their level. When we looked for a coach who is really passionate about improving the women’s recreational doubles player, Jane was the obvious choice. She is a dedicated, knowledgeable and dynamic teacher who ignites a fire in her players. She does a remarkable job”. — SportsEdTV Co-Founder and Director of Tennis, John Eagleton
The multi-video series covers the fundamentals of doubles tennis play and basic doubles strategy. Whether you’re looking to get back into the game, learn the game, or simply have fun playing the game, these professionally filmed, informative videos will help get you where you want to be.
Here is just a sample of what SportsEdTV has for us rec players:
