Mental toughness in tennis…this is very difficult to teach. Some players are naturally tough. Some aren’t. My theory is that players who are naturally mentally tough are generally confident people off the court, too. Mental toughness and confidence aren’t things that tennis players can buy. However, you can develop them if you work on them constantly.
Naturally, we tend to focus on our strengths in tennis matches. We are confident in our strengths. But what happens when you’re losing your match with those strengths?
One of the best ways to become a more confident player is to always practice your weaknesses in clinics and in friendlies. Practicing your weaknesses oftentimes can turn them into strengths. And before you know it, you’ll have more resources to draw from in your matches.
Remember, play to your strengths, practice your weaknesses, and you will become confident and mentally strong in tennis!
As always, my goal is to give you the tips and tools you need to be the best tennis player you can be. If you have any questions about rules, strategies, or situations that happened to you on the court, please tell me about it in the comments section below and I’ll address it in a future video! Also, be sure to share my posts with your tennis friends and connect with me through the social media links in my bio below!
