The only thing harder to bounce back from than a long period of rest is a physical injury. The best way to get back into your workout routine this spring is by simply cutting back your normal workouts. Start small by cutting your normal workout time in half, but back on the weight for your lifts, and make sure that you spend at least 15 minutes stretching and warming up your muscles.
Try a New Class
One of the hardest parts of any workout is deciding what to do on any given day. Taking a class takes all of the hard work of creating a great workout out of your hands. There are many different types of classes ranging from beginner yoga to expert boot camp sessions. No matter what your fitness level is, there is a perfect class that is just waiting for you!
Find a Workout Buddy
Finding the motivation to get out and go to the gym can be tough, especially if it has been a long time since you’ve exercised. Having a friend waiting for you to show up to the gym to workout with them will provide you plenty of motivation to get out of the house and back in action. Not only will they get you to the gym, but they can even motivate you to push yourself further. If you are competitive, having a workout buddy will push you to exceed your workout goals, and if you are more of a conversational exerciser, your friend will help you keep your mind off the exercise and you may even exercise for longer.
